about

This is a song I wrote on the 3rd floor of Carrier Library at JMU studying for a finance test. Creativity isn't allowed in business school; so hid away, looking over my shoulder every few minutes to see if someone was watching, and wrote this song about a life well lived.

lyrics

V1:
If I were an apple tree
The simple life it would be
My leaves make a song
All the birds singing along
Under me my leaves so green
The sun can’t be mean
Much fruit I would bare
Pick an apple I’d love to share

Chorus:
La da da la da da la da da DA DA
V2:
When winter’s bite comes along
There’s one who keeps me strong
Next to me lives a tree
I’d shade her and she’d shade me
Sharing the sun and moon
Our branches they loom
Loving me when my leaves fall
And I’d love her cause she’s my all

Chorus:
La da da la da da la da da DA DA

V3:
Now when my branches lay
On the ground what will they say
These leaves sang their own song
And sang it loud so sing along

Chorus:
La da da la da da la da da DA DA
